The workshop focuses on making positive prints using selected historical techniques (ferrotype, ambrotype, carbon print, etc.) The workshop focuses on a selected historical photographic technique each year, so this course can be enrolled repeatedly. Main topics The main topic is a specific photographic technique, e.g. ferrotype, ambrotype, carbon printing, etc. The schedule of the workshop can be formulated in general terms (sub-differences are always determined by the given photographic technique) as follows: / Historical and technical context of the origin and possibilities of the given technology, its specifics and modifications. Preparation and testing of photographic materials, Preparation for Photography, Preparation of the photographic chamber and studio, actual photography and processing of the materiál, Final processing, evaluation of results
Learning outcomes
The listener masters the process of non-stationary photographic techniques, safely controlling and achieving the desired results. Can write a process report reflecting on process anomalies with suggested solutions. Suggests the use of appropriate technique in their work. Seeks parallels in contemporary art and opportunities to further develop the use of the relevant technique. Is aware of alternative uses.

Other required and recommended study literature is assigned depending on the historical photographic technique in question.
Evaluation methods and criteria
Active participation, completion of intermediate tasks, submission of the results produced by the chosen technique in the required design, report on the implementation process, including a precise description of the work and a description of all anomalies that affected the process during the implementation and a suggestion on how to solve these situations or to use this solution already in this procedure, successful completion of the oral examination, summarizing the overall procedure and possible alternative solutions
