Professional development provides a set of skills and concepts essential for 21st century art media makers.

Throughout the semester, we will spend class time preparing a presentation of your own project for pitching, then we will look at the funding options for such a project (i.e.: how to write a grant and what grant opportunities even exist), and then at the end of the semester we will go over the presentation options/skills of each participant/participant in the course. We will focus on artistic career development.

Students will learn basic self-presentation skills by exploring examples of local and international projects. They will learn how to plan and describe an artwork in order to raise external funds.

Learning outcomes

  1. Artistic research

Students will develop the ability to present their own artistic practice on a variety of platforms. Pitching, grant systems, portfolio talk, artist talk - self presentation. And also the ability to navigate the financial support system and artistic opportunities in the Central European scene.
