Obsah

The aim of the course is to provide a platform for instant self-reflection of the final works which the students are about to do at the end of the year (The Triangle Exercise for CDM 1st year, The Short Film for CDM 2nd year). We consult the treatments, scripts and pitches of the films in progress, but also screen the earlier works of the students in order to understand more the style or the rythm of the film in progress. We also invite debuting Czech producers from time to time to give the stuents a reality check on what to expect while working on a full-length fiction debut. Up to three students of Charles University Faculty of Arts' Film Studies Department take part in the programme as well.

Výsledky učení

By the end of the course students will:

• see and discuss their own main task of the year (the main short film) from a different perspective
• understand better the system of film development in Czech countries, know more about the pitchings, conditions of grant applications, multi-source financing and production within the framework of public funding in Europe and Central Europe
• get to know more the work of each other

Hodnoticí metody a kritéria

TThe attendance to the class is facultative.

A mandatory task in order to receive the credit is a written dialogue set inthe fictional world of the year's final film of the student - but not the main characters. This „rosencrantz&guildenstern excercise“ will be discribed properly during the class.

Besides, the participation in class also contributes to the final credit.
