Information on the combined form:

The course is taught in a combined form of contact and non-contact teaching in a ratio of approximately 1:3, i.e. 36 hours of distance learning,

14 hours of face-to-face contact per semester.

The summer semester includes intensive concentrated block teaching of the main subjects.

The content of the course Pedagogical Seminar Modern and Contemporary Dance 4 consists mainly of independent pedagogical practice, in which the student applies and actually verifies the knowledge and skills acquired from the Didactics and Methodology MST class, with which it is closely linked. The pedagogical practice is professionally consulted with the teacher of the subject.

In the role of teacher, the student must be mindful of the principles of accurate explanation, use of professional terminology, adequate choice of methods and methods of assessment, solving specific problems in individuals, and accepting responsibility for preparation for teaching. Their written reflection teaches the student to clearly articulate the main principles, questions, as well as their opinions and attitudes.

Topics:

The pedagogical seminar includes theoretical analyses and evaluations in the form of discussion, allowing to grasp and process the given topic from different perspectives and experiences.

The MST pedagogical seminar also serves to obtain basic information about the functioning, structure and problems of dance education and the contemporary Czech dance community.

Learning outcomes

The aim of the study is the practical development of independent pedagogical work, awareness of the role of the teacher, formation of individual pedagogical style and direct confrontation with real situations in the form of teaching at selected state institutions (e.g. conservatories, ZUŠ), dance companies or private studios.
