Contents
Basics of lighting technology with a focus on lighting systems in theater, film, television, and architecture. Classes are held at DISK and Galaxie.
Day 1
- Introduction to lighting design: tools and procedures.
- Properties of light.
- Assignment of group work.
- Group work: lighting design.
- Experiments (light and materials), discussion.
Day 2
- Group work: preparation, testing of materials.
- Joint technical preparation.
- Tests in the space – group 1.
- Tests in the space – group 2.
- Tests in the space – group 3.
Day 3
- Programming group 3.
- Programming group 2.
- Programming group 1.
- Preparation of presentation.
- Presentation.
- Cleanup, discussion.
Learning outcomes
The student has theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the above-mentioned lighting systems. They are familiar with the tools and procedures for programming lighting concepts and can apply them in the creative process.
Prerequisites and other requirements
Basic knowledge of theatre space stage design and structures in architecture.

Evaluation methods and criteria
Credit is awarded based on 100% attendance at block teaching and basic knowledge of the subject. The ability to apply lighting techniques in practice is assessed above all else.
