The student develops a script or short story corresponding in its length to a feature film. From the given text, he/she then elaborates in detail an exterior scenery that cannot be filmed on a real location for any reason and which is therefore solved as a construction in the exterior either on the studio property or on a selected location. The work is presented with a physical model at an adequate scale and is accompanied by color perspectives. The student analyzes the dramatic text and then creates a dramatic space based on the text. The student is introduced to the artistic resources available to him/her as a set designer and learns to use them to create space for a dramatic situation. Works with reference visual materials. The presentation is designed to best communicate with the other members of the film crew, from the creative to the full technical.
Learning outcomes
- Introducing the student to the issues of film and television set design, and the difference in perception of a film set design and theatre set design.
- Solving a film story according to the given text, working with the space of a real location, connection with a real location, color, light, and props.
- Complex design of a short film story, short story, which solves the assignment from all aspects not only artistic but also technical and production.

Evaluation methods and criteria
The result of the semester's work is a final project. The scope of the submitted project is given at the beginning of the semester, the fulfillment of the scope of the project in terms of volume is a crucial item in the student's evaluation. If the entire scope of the assignment is not developed, that is, both the artistic and technical parts, the project is evaluated as insufficient. The quality of the work produced is the item that affects the grade. Student activity during the semester is an additional part of the evaluation. During the semester, the student works on several sub-assignments, the completion of which is an integral part of the student's evaluation.
