Contents
The aim of the course is to provide students with hands-on training, during which they will personally experiment with various surface treatments using painting techniques. These techniques are very commonly used in film production.
The main surfaces covered are:
- Peeling paint and plaster.
- The appearance of a wet wall.
- Torn wallpaper.
- Wood grain.
- Marbling.
- Roller painting, use of stencils.
- Achieving the effect of dewy fogged glass.
The school’s instructors actively assist in preparing the course together with the selected course leader. The course date is not fixed and can take place at any time during the semester.
Learning outcomes
Under the supervision of the course instructor, students will learn the principles of basic painting techniques commonly used to create weathered effects on film set surfaces.

Evaluation methods and criteria
The student completes the course under the guidance of the course instructor and the academic advisor. Upon completion, the student must demonstrate completion of the course by providing photographic documentation of the patinated surfaces and a written description of the individual artistic techniques. Based on this brief visual and written report, the instructor will award the student credit. The course will last approximately 4 days.
