Contents

This course is designed to help students develop methods and create tools for collaborative devising. Students will explore various principles of devising and learn to uncover the performative potential in situations, objects, images, thoughts, compositions, and more. They will practice developing these materials by reworking existing content, placing it into new contexts, sharing material, and deconstructing it into actions and situations suitable for the stage. Additionally, students will learn to create tasks based on specific research or themes to facilitate collective devising.

The course emphasizes the collective, encouraging students to discover strategies for both spontaneous and planned devising. It also addresses the challenges of collective work, offering guidance on problem-solving, effective communication, and articulating artistic visions. Students will examine the unique needs of different collaborative constellations, such as those involving performers, designers, or dramaturgs, to ensure successful and goal-oriented teamwork.
