Contents
Independent and group work on short etudes with material and puppet.
Searching the possibilities of different puppet types.
Working on rhythm and composition in object theatre.
Builds on the content of Puppet animation 1,2. The aim of the course is to deepen and widen students' acting skills with different types of puppets and with objects or materials. The focus is on the current perception of puppet theatre as one of the tools of a synthetic stage form. Animation of an object, puppet or material which may be the basis or part of a work for stage.
Mode of study: Etudes, exercises in treating stage situations, artistic skills in managing individual types of puppets, discussions and analyses of work performed. The course will be taught in thematic blocks.
Learning outcomes
In the field of knowledge (K), the student:
- analyzes and investigates mutual relations between theoretical and practical aspects of studies as well as makes use of that knowledge for own artistic development while creating the final artistic project.
- becomes familiar with various styles of puppet theater and their most significant representatives, with the possibilities of puppet techniques as object theater, masks, and other unconventional means of artistic expression and theatre of live form; adapt those elements to their own project
In the field of skills (S). the student:
- develops own artistic personality and learns effective techniques of improving his/her own professional skills ; creates, realizes and expresses own artistic concepts
- improves skills of conscious and independent usage of the chosen technique and technology of puppet theatre needed for their realization of individual artistic work during rehearsals
- can effectively use imagination, intuition, and emotions. Can apply creative thinking and work in the rehearsal process. Can adapt flexibly to changing situations and new circumstances.
- acquires the skills necessary to carry out original artistic activities based on stylistically diverse concepts and representing the result of the creative use of individual imagination, intuition, and emotional experience.
In the field of social competencies (C), the student:
- improves the skill of effective communication and living in society, which applies in particular to group work, negotiation, organization, integration with others when working on a joint project and its public presentation
learns through effective communication to develop the ability to self-evaluate and constructively critique the work of other students

Evaluation methods and criteria
Completion of the course will require attendance with a maximum of three absences per semester, activity in exercises, presentations and creativity. A certain amount of homework is expected.
