This course covers individual research and practice tasks for the thesis paper and students mutually inspire one another with the sharing of questions and issues. Aside from this the classes are based on individual consultations focused on resolving particular problems of individual papers.

Learning outcomes

The course aim is to help students select a topic, assemble a schedule for completion, advise on how to procede in the bibliography and practical research, how to manage the acquired materials and how to arrange and lay it out. Then in individual and group consultations, the instructors of the given master's specialization assist in achieving the established research aims.

Evaluation methods and criteria

The requirements for completing the course are on-going consultations on the master's project with a particular instructor, attendance at group classes and submission of a semester papers as on-going reports on the fulfilling of the project.

The report is to have 12-15 standard pages in the form of a related essay. Any number of attachhments.

Required content:

  1. Justification of topic choice, measure of personal relationship the selected topic.
  2. Establishment of original research tasks and adjustments during work (project aim adjustment, limitations, justification).
  3. Project plan and adjustment (stages, methods).
  4. Description of individual project stages and their partial results.
  5. One's research (theory basis, sources, selected methodology).
  6. Conclusions, evaluation of measure of fulfillment of established aims.

In place of the final report, if the student has already submitted the thesis for defense, the theme is submitted in the extent of 12-20 standard pages. The theme is an excerpt from the thesis and contains particularly a definition of the research tasks (aims, hypotheses) and the most important thesis conclusions.

Grades are given by by the thesis advisor based on submitted reports or thesis and intensity of consultations and research work throughout the entire academic year.a commission comprised of the Photography Dept. awarded to the student based on the following criteria (% = criteria weight):
