The course „Visual dialogue“ is focused on art techniques. It deals with the formal and content side of the visual work as well as general orientation in contemporary art. The center – the reference point and starting point of the course – is painting. We are interested in all its positions: Experiments with material, work with format, overlaps into other media. We will deal with painting comprehensively, from stretching the canvas, through sketches to the final output. We are also interested in spatial techniques, painting overlaps in the building or installation. In addition to painting procedures such as underpainting, glazes, working with acrylic and oil, you will also learn other techniques: frottage, working with templates, airbrush, structures, pigments and more. The course includes a field trip.

Our approach consists of support and development, and is responsive to the individual needs of each student. We will lead the course through the metaphor of an open experimenting space. We support diversity and new approaches, at the same time we offer the possibility of empirical knowledge of what is already known. Our teaching takes place in the spirit of finding common ground. The theme can be both concept and form.

The topics are semester-long and are the result of joint discussion.

A mistake is a tool, it is a shift and it can also be a discovery.

We enjoy and are interested in diversity, we want to explore with students.

The content is created in dialogue with the listeners and in the sense of their creation.

create a functional cocktail that will provide listeners with space for developing their own work.

We also want to pay close attention to what precedes the creation of specific projects, where students look for sources of inspiration, what are the reasons for the choice, how they work with the context, how they conduct research in the given area, how they map their creative process.
