As part of the implementation of the experimental film format, students will create a joint audiovisual output on the border between performance and video. This output, unique in terms of formal and practical aspects, aims to expand the possibilities of perceiving the concept of the „intermedia“ approach to creating a work of art and thinking about it.

Project introduction

An experimental film working with the theme of nonlinear perception of time is a free adaptation of

the story of the liberator of slaves, Spartacus. The film aims to develop an innovative approach to film form using partial approaches, allowing a single viewer experience.

Formally, the film is defined on the border between performance, experimental video and a conceptual approach in the context of the theme of time-oriented media.

The film is created as a certain part of doctoral research within the study of the lecturer: MgA. Jiří Procházka, who is also deliberately working on this output with his students as the intention of his pedagogical practice and an effort to define the concept of Intermedia with students in practice.

Determining roles and editing the scene

Students will be divided into two groups, one will be part of the movement exercise and recording the image as part of the filming, the other part will participate in the accompanying soundtrack as an author.

Spontaneous movement in space + filming

The filming will take place during the movement exercise and each student will participate equally in it, thus mediating the image recording from their point of view. The resulting montage combining several approaches will be the output for the examinees about innovation in the film format and the approach to the audiovisual work as part of artistic practice.
