The module will look at the principles of sustainability in the context of major production studies and the future development of European audiovisual, we will look at case studies, and the practical part of the module will introduce tools that simplify the implementation of these principles on set as well as the not long ago mandatory ESG reporting process. The tutorial module will introduce carbon calculator tools that make it easier to prioritise areas to focus on with regard to reducing the carbon footprint, their importance and the context of the role of these tools in the environment. The module will be led by experts practicing green filmmaking in domestic and European settings.

Learning outcomes

Graduates*of the module will be able to prioritise areas to focus on in promoting sustainability principles on set so that their efforts have the greatest effect and will be able to identify areas of risk from a carbon emissions perspective. They will be able to make practical use of carbon calculator tools and know the European and global context for their use.
