Introductory course designed to get a new user up-and-running on the Avid Media Composer software.
The course will cover:
- Shortly the difference between common NLEs
- Technical Fundamentals
- Introduction to Media Composer
- Ingesting assets
- Setting up a project, personalize the UI and useful shortcuts
- Building a sequence and working with tracks
- 3-point Editing and Segment Mode
- Refining the Sequence (including Trim Mode)
- Transition and Segment Effects
- Motion Effects and Titles
- Exporting (Video or Sequence)
Learning outcomes
Students should get familiar with Avid Media Composer's interface and be able to operate it fluently as a tool to serve their needs in storytelling while editing their own projects. They will also receive adequate amount of exercises to practise hands-on.
Prerequisites and other requirements
No special skills expected, just be on time and ready to learn something new. Students should have installed the full version of Avid Media Composer, which they can have for free with their student credentials.
