Learning objectives:

The main focus of the course is the preparation of the graduate concert. The student is guided to independently prepare the dramaturgy of the concert, including a unifying idea linking the whole programme. Regular consultations concerning the preparation of the Master's thesis also take place in the course Preparation of Master's Thesis.

At the same time, the student learns to name all the attributes of playing (principles of correct finger technique, tonal culture, etc.) on the violin, to analyse them, to be able to explain and independently solve possible combinations of problems that may arise in performance practice. The student is guided to understand the psychological aspects of the soloist-performer's activity. The student acquires further knowledge in the field of interpretation not only of traditional but also of modern or non-traditional techniques and forms.

Learning outcomes

The student has a comprehensive knowledge of global as well as national repertoire and demonstrates a high level of ability in creating and delivering seamless musical experiences and interpretations.

The student develops, presents and implements artistic programs that are coherent and appropriate for a variety of contexts.

The student understands in depth the role of the musician in contemporary society, exploring, engaging with and reflecting on specific relevant professional working environments and contexts.

The student performs music at a high professional level (technically and interpretatively masterful expression), expressing his/her own artistic concepts at the level of a developed musical personality.

The student possesses sophisticated craft skills in relation to repertoire, style, genre, etc.

The student demonstrates breadth and/or depth of expertise and demonstrates proficiency in a variety of styles and/or has a distinctive and individual expression in one particular style.

Evaluation methods and criteria

Conditions for the award of credit examination: active participation in the lessons, playing the compositions chosen for the graduation concert in the form of a performance at the seminar and the ability to defend their interpretative views and solutions in discussion with classmates and teachers. Other requirements: minimum 80% attendance
